Safeguard the future of our region's native plants

All native plants play a special role in the web of life on which all other species—including human beings—depend. With generous from friends like you, we have conserved native plants for more than a century.

Your help fund our work to conserve and restore our region’s native flora, including both common plants and the 389 globally and regionally rare plant species in New England.

This work—saving imperiled plants, researching climate impacts on plants, and restoring habitat for declining pollinators and other insects, birds, and other wildlife—is urgent and fundamental. Through our education programs, our extensive propagation research, and our growing selection of regional native species available for home gardens and landscapes, we also continue to raise awareness of the beauty and ecological importance of New England's native plants.

Donate today to safeguard the future of our region’s native plants and the web of life they support.

Has Someone Inspired You with a Love of Nature?

Honor them with a named tree or bench

Visitors strolling through Garden in the Woods for years to come will appreciate the views from the bench or the lovely shape of the magnificent tree you have provided as a tribute to an important person in your life.

Both donations include the opportunity to have a plaque installed for your tribute. Options for trees to dedicate will depend on the horticulture plan, with options such as yellow birch, eastern larch, red bud, tulip tree, umbrella magnolia, and other species.

Prior to planting a tree or installing a bench, our Horticulture team will confirm an appropriate location for the bench or tree species you've chosen, as well as wording for the tribute plaque.

Tree donation: $3,000

Wooden bench (expected 10-year life span) donation: $6,000

Before making a tribute donation, please contact the Philanthropy department to discuss the options for naming trees and benches: 774-519-5571 or gifts@NativePlantTrust.org. Occasionally, trail redesign requires moving a bench to a different location from where it was initially installed.
